Preppers are amusing. Once the society collapses as they suggest, perhaps after a solar flare that ends technology, the supply of essentials will end. Storing up a weeks worth, or a decades worth, will not change that. Even if a prepper were to survive the wave of starving desperate people flooding from the urban areas, they don't have the skills or habits of thought to survive in a preindustrial world, or an 18th century world, or a 15th, or 5th, or the complex world of Moses and the pharaoh. Or certainly not as a Neanderthal. and the fantasy that they would recreate the industrial world that took millennia to form from already functioning societies is silly. Think not? Ok. Everything to make a steam engine exists in nature within a hundred miles of here. Go ahead with all your knowledge, walk into the woods with all your prepper stuff and make one, or a vial of antibiotic. .
